I guess I should catch you guys up to speed.
"Pete, why are you joining the PC?"
-I made two great college decisions (and many more poor ones). One was to rush SigEp and the other was to study abroad. I spent over three months in Granada, Spain and it was beyond amazing. I learned to love exploring new cultures, speaking a different language, and meeting new people. The PC, I'm hoping, is going to be studying abroad, on crack.
"What are you going to do for 27 months?"
-Great question. I have no idea. I was nominated (fancy way of saying I'd make a good PC volunteer) on May 26th. Since then, my eyes, teeth and rest of me were deemed fit for service. At this time, I still haven't received my official assignment which tells me where, when, and what I'll be doing. Most likely I'll be:
- Going to Central or South America. That means pretty much between Mexico and Paraguay.
- Leaving between February or March.
- Doing business advising. I'm going to be paired with an entrepreneur who has a business idea that would help the community and is sustainable.
The assignment should be coming any day now so cross your fingers!
-Pedro
