From Past to Present

I guess I should catch you guys up to speed.

"Pete, why are you joining the PC?"
-I made two great college decisions (and many more poor ones).  One was to rush SigEp and the other was to study abroad.  I spent over three months in Granada, Spain and it was beyond amazing.  I learned to love exploring new cultures, speaking a different language, and meeting new people.  The PC, I'm hoping, is going to be studying abroad, on crack.

"What are you going to do for 27 months?"
-Great question.  I have no idea.  I was nominated (fancy way of saying I'd make a good PC volunteer) on May 26th.  Since then, my eyes, teeth and rest of me were deemed fit for service.  At this time, I still haven't received my official assignment which tells me where, when, and what I'll be doing.  Most likely I'll be:
  • Going to Central or South America.  That means pretty much between Mexico and Paraguay.
  • Leaving between February or March.
  • Doing business advising.  I'm going to be paired with an entrepreneur who has a business idea that would help the community and is sustainable.
The assignment should be coming any day now so cross your fingers!

Welcome!

Hello family, friends and stalkers!

People expressed interest that they would like to hear about my life while I'm adventuring in the third world.  Hence, this blog was born.  I will try to keep it interesting and entertaining for your sake (and mine).  I won't make any false promises of keeping it up to date (seeing as that will be far beyond my control at times) but it sure beats email spam blasts, right?  Enjoy!
